03/15/2006 Archived Article: "Internet connection problems with Iberbanda plague the village"

Avired subscribers in Gaucin have noted that since January connection to the internet has become slower and slower. The problem is that Avired/Iberbanda. has enlisted too many subscribers in the area for their system. Contracted subscribers have a right to a specific band width but are not getting it. Therefore, Iberbanda is in breech of contract.

Subscribers should send Iberbanda an email to bring the situation to their attention. They are required to open a file and deal with it. New consumer protection laws in Spain demand compensation for lack of service. Nothing hits a company more than having to pay out! Avired/Iberbanda: soporte@avired.com or by phone to 902666030. If enough Iberbanda subscribers complain, they will pay attention.

According to village IT technician Manolo Conde Benitez (667885183 or gaucinpc@gmail.com) Telefonica will provide ADSL service, connected to phone lines, beginning March 31, at 4 times the speed of Iberbanda, and a little less in price. Manolo is the agent for Telefonica on this.
