06/30/2006 Archived Article: "Flowers of Gaucin exhibition opens at the Fructuosa Restaurant"
Last night the exposition 'Flores de Gaucín' opened in La Fructuosa with tapas and drinks. The exposition remains open thru July and August. It is not an art exhibition, but a botanical show, with some 170 photographs taken by Jesús Balsa, Jim Warburton and Jorrian van der Schaaf of wild flowers exclusively from Gaucin.
The photographers are not identified by name on the fotos. Approximately 150 species are represented, and of these, 120 have been identified by Latin name. It is hoped that the village people will be able to provide the local names. The framed pictures are for sale at 10 Euro each, and half goes to PAD Gaucin.
