The Municipal Caseta was transformed into a magical venue, with colorful linens on the tables and chairs, flowers and adornments. On the stage were the two flags of St. John of God (San Juan de Diós) and the Santo Niño. There were around 300 guests, many from Gaucin, and others, gaucineños now living on the Coast and inland. Upon entering the pavilion, the guests were offered tapas and copas, and the dinner, consisting of local fiambres, a seafood platter, tenderloin and chocolate pudding, was superb. It was catered from Marbella. Alter the jolly dinner the Canon of Málaga, a native of Gaucín, D. Francisco Garcia Mota, spoke on the history of Gaucin and the importance it had during the reign of the Catholic kings. These topics are covered in the book on the history of the Santo Niño in Gaucin, by D. Salvador Martín de Molina, whom D. Francisco introduced. In the foto, D. Francisco.
