01/15/2007 Archived Article: "Gaucin neighbours protest the bad condition of the A369"
 The A 369 passes through Gaucín to link the Coast with Ronda. This road has been ion a bad state for years. & every day it gets worse. The grading is bad, it lacks good signage, and with humidity and rain it becomes very dangerous. January 5 a car slid off the road and a man from the neighbouring town of Benalauría was killed. There were at least 16 accidents last year, the lkatest one on the very day of the demonstration, and the total accidents recorded in the last few years reaches 80.
Sherezada Márquez Martínez of Cortes de la Frontera was present at the demonstration. She had an accident on the A369 which left her in a coma, and then in a wheelchair, Uyt severe head injuries.
The demonstration was for a public Benedit, because the road is very important for all of us who use it, in cars as well as on foot. In fact, knowing the danger of the road, many drivers opt to go thru the pueblo to avoid it, which increases the traffic on the narrow streets of the pueblo.
The organizers thank the people of Gaucin & of neighbouring pueblos for their collaboration, and also the comerse that closed their doors to be united in the demonstration.
