05/28/2007 Archived Article: "Elections 2007: Mayor´s Party still is the biggest"
The results are as follows: Partido Andalucista (the Mayor) – 542 PSOE (Socialists) – 465 Partido Popular (Center) -- 315 Total: 1322 votes
Compare to the results of the 2003 elections: PA ---- 486 PP ---- 456 PSOE ----- 280 for a total of 1222 votes
The PA does not have the majority, and neither the PSOE nor the PP wants to form a coalition with the PA. However, in campaigning both parties stated they would make a pact with each other in case of an “empate.” If they do, it looks as if Teodoro de Molina of the PSOE will become the new mayor. The results of any pact will be known on June 15.
