11/07/2007 Archived Article: "Tennis players: sign up now to participate in the tennis tournament of the Gaucín Feria 2007"
Jorrian asks that you let him know in what categories and with whom you will play BEFORE SUNDAY EVENING, July 15TH, by 20.00 HOURS. Contact him by e-mail at almajor@avired.com, or telephone 658 612 989.
The Categories from 17 years of age are the following: Men and women singles; Men and women doubles; Mixed doubles.
The tournament starts Tuesday, 17th of July, and finishes Friday, 3d of August. This gives everyone plenty of time to plan their games. Please inform others who don´t have internet, such as José Antonio, the policemen, Carlos, Carlitos, etc.
As before: * everyone plays everyone a number of games (amount depending on the numbers of players) according to a handicap system
* you schedule your own matches
* Jorrian will have the list of participants and their telephone numbers.
RULES OF THE GAME
1. Players make their own appointments when to play with their opponent(s). It would be good to write down your appointments on the list that is hanging at the entrance of the court.
2. PLEASE, START YOUR MATCHES ASAP. WE HAVE TO PLAY ALL MATCHES IN TWO WEEKS AND A HALF!
3. You play 15 games in a row. Whoever wins, gains 2 points extra.
4. If your opponent doesn't show up within 15 minutes after the time set to play, you automatically win 10-5.
5. We accumulate the games won. So if three matches are played and the results were 10-5, 7-8 and 4-11, there are 10+7+4= 21 points.
6. We play without referees. If there's any doubt, play the point again with two services to start with.
7. PLEASE WRITE DOWN THE RESULTS DIRECTLY AFTER THE MATCH and/or Call Julián to pass on the results 658 612 989.
8. In case there's any dispute, Julián will make a decision, or, if he himself is involved in any way, someone else, who both parties do respect.
9. There are prizes for Nºs. 1 y 2.
