01/21/2008 Archived Article: "Users of the A-377 urge the bureaucrats to fix the road to insure safety and to help in the economic development of the region"

According to the Diariosur, potholes, hairpin curves, narrow passes, missing asphalt, etc., are present in most of the road Manilva-Gaucin, which is the principal road connecting the regional municipalities.

This area is experiencing a growing population. According to calculations made by the DiarioSur, there were 10.812 more people living in the entire rural area of Málaga (not only the Serranía of Ronda) than last year.

The A-377, Manilva – Gaucín, is one of the rural roads that provokes the most complaints in the western side of the province. There are numerous potholes along its 30 kilómeters. The deterioration of the road causes damage to the cars that travel over it. The Junta de Andalucía investid more than one hundred thousand euros to repair it, but that hasn´t been sufficient. The Ayuntamiento de Casares has presented motions asking for the road to be fixed.
