04/24/2008 Archived Article: "Street Theatre in Gaucin set for this weekend"
From Friday April, through Sunday, 27 April, the Town Council of Gaucin,
the Department of Culture of Malaga, and the theater group El Gato OS invite
everyone to participate in an animation in the streets of Gaucín.
Everyone may play together to make theater: adults, children, seniors, parents, grandparents, all together. there is no limit whatsoever. No previous theatrical experience is necessary, just enthusiasm to share thestories, legends, songs and melodies of our people, while we create something fun together. The coexistence and cooperation between different generations will be an essential ingredient in the play.
All attendees will participate in various games, tell stories, anecdotes, events. After the stage manager introduces the various stories, to be accompanied by music, there will be a spectacular finale of a popular festive nature.
The first meeting will be Friday at 18:00 in the convent to see some videos on other similar experiences in other towns of Andalusia. There we begin the adventure through theatre and music.
The event is helped and supported by the Municipal Band, the Association of Women, the
Parents' Association, the local College Guzman El Bueno and the association of tourism initiatives.
