05/07/2008 Archived Article: "The first Monthly Market was held May 3, and will be continued throughout the year"
There were 17 stands, which sold plants, homemade baskets (see foto), organic products, homemade breads and pastries, home grown honey, etc. From 10 a.m. many people took advantage of the market that was held in the Plaza of the Santo Niño. The atmosphere was lively, and the success so apparent that many people have reserved places for more stands at the next market. The idea of the Asociación de Iniciativas Turísticas is to offer gaucineños the opportunity to sell their home grown and home made products, especially those from local gardens and orchards, and also, for the market to be a meeting place for the locals.
