05/11/2008 Archived Article: "The ASOCIACIÓN INICIATIVAS TURÍSTICAS DE GAUCÍN invites everyone to attend the meeting about the PROYECTO SALAMANQUESAS, on Monday, May 12, at 7 p.m. in the Convent"

The project has been inspired by the famous Swiss artistic project, designed to lure people back into the center of Zurich. They created hundreds of life-sized poliéster cows which were decorated and transformed by artists and placed around the city center. This had a tremendous success, and many cities of the world copied the idea.
We want to do something similar in Gaucín, but with an animal that we see everyday in our streets and gardens. 400 geckos with be distributed to artists and children of Gaucin --- to anyone who wishes to participate, to paint and decorate them. They will then be installed on various facades of Gaucin for 2 months, to beautify our streets and attract tourism.
This Project is for everuyone, and should be much fun. Come to the meeting and participate! For more information: call Jesús at 617692784.
