05/26/2008 Archived Article: "Paco Ruiz to resign from coalition"
Paco Ruiz, the deputy mayor and first man of the PP en Gaucin, wrote a
letter last Monday stating he wanted to resign as a 'concejal' and go back
to his former job. One day later he withdrew this and wrote another letter
saying he will continue to be a council member, but will break the coalition
between PSOE and PP per May 31. It seems the second man of the PP, Manolo,
was not informed.
This situation means the PSOE (Teodoro, Feli and Juan) will continue to
govern the village as a minority with 3 out of 9 seats, and that for future
decisions to be made will depend on the consent of the other 6 council
members.
Rumors that Paco would break the coalition and form a new one with the PA,
the former Mayor Corbacho, are not correct.
