07/20/2008 Archived Article: "Repaired church to open Saturday with visit from Bishop of Málaga"

July 25, next Friday, Day of Santiago: Mass at noon in the Convento. The festival of Estación begins at 8 that night, thus the early mass in Gaucin.
July 26, Saturday, 12:30 p.m.: The Bishop of Málaga comes to inaugurate the new roof of the church, which has been under construction for the past 6 months. After the inauguration there will be a social gathering in the parish hall. Parishioners are asked to bring food to share at this event, which should obviously be prepared and delivered before the mass.

Starting tomorrow, from 4 p.m., every day, parishionera are asked to collaborate in fixing up the church. It has been painted, but help is needed in cleaning metal items, installing lights, clearing pews, arranging statues, etc etc. We also need to fix up the parish hall

After the inauguration all masses Hill be in the church as usual.
Information will be given here later concerning Pepe´s transfer to Campillos at the end of August. The new priest has not been ordained yet and we will be his first parish!
