25/10/2008 Archived Article: "GAUCIN GECKOS ON EXHIBIT, TO BE AUCTIONED FRIDAY"

The exhibition is in the Convento, and will go on all week. They will be auctioned Friday, October 31. at 7:30 pm. Gaucineños may bring their own Geckos to be auctioned, or may make an offer for those exhibited. For more information call Jesus at 647 510 385. We hope to see you all at the auction.

The Board of Directors of Tourist Initiatives Gaucin would like to thank all those who participated in the Gecko project, SALAMANQUESART, for your cooperation and enthusiasm. This initiative has been a success, and the Geckos have appeared on television, radio, and many newspapers during the past four months. Many tourists came to our town to admire the imagination of all those who decorated their Geckos. Thousands of pictures, but also postcards, T-shirts with Geckos are now carrying the name of Gaucín around the world.

Pictures of the Geckos for sale will also be shown on the web-site, salamanquesarte@turismogaucin.com, and you can also use the site to reach a deal. If you want to sell your Gecko, please contact Jesus 647 510 385. Also, please send pictures of the Geckos to salamanquesarte@turismogaucin.com.

The money raised by the Association will serve to finance future projects that may continue to attract tourists.
