According to Málaga Hoy: Officials in Ronda are worried about the appearance of the "picudo rojo," in Benalauría and Estación de Gaucín. This nefarious beetle destroys the Canariense palm tree. It is assumed that palms originating from the Canaries are the point of entry of this beetle.
