03/16/2009 Archived Article: "The pilgrimage from Estepona to Santiago de Compostela set out yesterday"
Patrick Elvin (in the photo, being blessed before the pilgrimage)long time Gaucín resident active in the group walks here, will lead the group. Pilgrims are making the walk to get funds for the protection of abandoned animals. They left from Estepona at 9:30 Sunday, and arrived in Gaucín at 5 p.m. It was a very animated walk, with pilgrims from America, Spain, Germany, England, Norway, Sweden and Tanzania, accompanied by numerous homeless dogs. The walk to Santiago will take 7 weeks.
