22/12/2009 Archived Article: "The second AGM of the Tourist Board was held the 10th of Decemberin the VConvento"

- Summary of the 2009 activities: second tapas competition, monthly farmers market, guided weekend walks, the giant salamanders and the bird panels.
- Annual accounts: at present, considering the capital of the Association, the money that is owed and debts, the balance is almost 0 €. The accounts are available to any member upon request.
- Projects and Prospects for 2010: some members of the board resigned and, given that there were no further nominations, it was decided that in 2010 only a few projects will continue for which there is a responsible person. The Board will be the gathering of these projects leaders.
The projects and candidates presented are:
Jorrian van der Schaaf: hiking
Jesus Balsa: cat project (successor of the Gecko project)
Andrea Fernandez: 3rd tapas competition
Sebastian Marquez: monthly farmers market together with Constance Seijo, Teresa Tamayo and Murphy.
Inma Prieto: Concurso de Fotografía and a Video of Gaucín

Finally we handed the first cats for next year’s project.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Nicholas Morbois for his two years on the board, which has been fundamental to carry out all projects, especially the farmers market and the launch of the website. He offers his cooperation whenever necessary. Thanks Nico!

The Board needs the cooperation of all members, so we kindly ask you all:
- to pay your contribution of 2009 (60 out of 101 haven’t paid last year) and/or to pay your fee for 2010. This is best done directly through the bank.
- Volunteers are needed to coordinate the following areas, not much work, but very necessary:
*Website: update the contents and place monthly news
*Public Relations: maintaining contact between partners, attract new members and relationships with the media

Sincerely, your collaboration is absolutely necessary. Do not let disappear what has cost so much to create and has already demonstrated its importance for Gaucín. Let’s go forward and work together! If you're only or specially interested in one of the projects you can offer your help by getting in contact with the person in charge of it: Jorrian 658612989 (hiking), Jesus 617692784 (cats), Andrea 657548170 (tapas) and Sebastian 655826426 (market), Inma 660663368 (photo and video).

VERY IMPORTANT: We inform you that the original drawings of birds used to make the panels are exhibited in Bar El Puente. They will be auctioned on January 10 at the Convent, but you can already make a bid. Tell it to all your friend!

The same January 10 cats we will hand out the cats to all those members who have paid their annual membership fee. The cats are free to all associates, to all children from the local school and will cost 20 € for the non-members who wish to collaborate on the project by decorating and showing the cats on their facades or windows. They cost 25 € for those who want to buy but not to expose them.
All suggestions, advice and contributions will be welcomed.
