01/12/2010 Archived Article: "In Granada, an exhibition of the famous painting of Gaucin´s castle"

To commemorate the 150 anniversary of Washington Irving´s death, an art exhibition is being held in the Palacio de Carlos V in Granada (next to the Alhambra) that includes the 19th century painting of our castle, done by Jenaro Pérez Villamil, that is part of the collection of the Museo del Prado, and is normally in Madrid.

This is a good opportunity for people who visit Granada to see the painting. It will be on exhibition until 28 February, and entrance is free, even tho it´s in the precinct of the Alhambra, but entrance to the Palacio de Carlos V is free. Gaucineños who live or visit Granada are encouraged to go see this beautiful and idealistic painting.
