Walk around the la Sierra del Hacho is planned for Sunday, May 12
Anyone interested can take part (it´s free) to take photographs and to enjoy the beautiful Gaucín countryside during this spectacular May.
The walk will start from the la Plaza del Santo Niño at 10 a.m. Necessary: comfortable clothing and shoes, water and a camera. Length of the walk is estimated to be between 2 and 2.5 hours.

Annual “Open Studios” exhibition of Art Gaucin set for last two weekends in May
16 local artists will open their studios to the public May 24, 25 and 26, and then again, May 31, June 1 and 2. They will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Don´t miss this lovely occasion to walk around the pueblo and see some wonderful art!
A workshop to study Gaucin, Granada and Tetouan is set for June – July in Gaucin
The course begins the first of June and goes to the 22 of July, and is organized by the University of Alicante and the Ayuntamiento of Gaucin. The conservation and patrimony of Al-Andalus, and Gaucin in particular, will be studied. Interested students can sign up in the Town Hall beginning now until the 30th of May. The object is to analyze and debate, in an international and interdisciplinary group, the role of “caminos” as an element of the patrimonies, in a historical and geographical context, of the localities of Gaucín, Granada and Tetouan. A permanent study group will be created at the sponsoring universities to research the patrimony of Andalucia.

Holy Thursday, 28 March: 6 p.m. – Mass of Our Lord´s supper
7:30 p.m. – Processión of Our Father Jesus the Nazarene, accompanied by the children of the school and the Pueblo in general
10 p.m.: Holy hour
Good Friday, 29 March: 12 noon – Stations of the Cross in the church
4 p.m. – Holy office of Our Lord
5 p.m. – Processión of the Holy Burial, accompanied by the village authorities and the ladies in mantillas.
Holy Saturday, 30 March: 10:30 p.m. – Pascal Vigil in the church
