GAUCÍN: Balcony of the Ronda Mountains where the Holy Child appeared to St. John of God.
The illustrious, always noble, very hospitable village of Gaucín.

Firstly, and most importantly, I hope that you are all well? I know that these are very difficult and uncertain times and we all have many questions, which I hope over the coming days I can answer. It is true that there are still too many people out in the pueblo, but this will change over the coming days as restrictions are enforced. The mayor is working with the local police on this today and we are limiting the trade of the ferreteria, they will only be able to sell animal food and hygiene products. This is a new situation for all of us; as residents, the town hall, the local police and the Guardia, but we are working together to protect and support our community. We are working with local shops regarding food deliveries, redistributing town hall workers to support the elderly and setting up a group of volunteers to help with deliveries and dog walking.

Dear customers and friends,

As a business selling food we are permitted to open and we intend to do so as planned on 25th March, unless there are any changes to the current position.

You all know that hygiene is always top priority for us and we will follow all the current guidelines. We will further protect our customers and ourselves by making some adjustments to the way we operate.

For example we will offer:

There will be a roller skating workshop for kids on 11 and 18 March from 17:00-19:00 and a morning of skating on 21 March at the Pista Polideportivo de Colegio. Please sign up at the town hall or Centro Guadalinfo.
There are two events taking place to celebrate. Firstly, we have the “Encuentro de Mujeres Rural” in the Casa Juventud from 1030 to 2PM, please contact Mar from Tienda Verde on 622 414 990 to book a place. Then in the Plaza we have the “merienda” at 6PM, this is open to all the ladies in the village and is a chance to have a chat over tea and coffee with sandwiches and cake. Please do come along and support it if you can.
