Today, February 4, Mass will be celebrated in the ermita of the Santo Niño Dios, in the Castle, at 5 p.m., as happens the first Friday of every month in Gaucin. The church bells will ring one hour in advance to alert everyone. Devotion to the Santo Niño doesn´t only happen in September --- we have the opportunity to go to Mass in His honor the first Friday of every month. Don´t miss it!
FructExpo0111Today, Thursday, January 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fructuosa, a painter from Castellar de la Frontera, Raquel Macias, will exhibit her work. Ten years ago at the Fructuosa she had a very successful exhibit, and Gauin is happy to welcome her back. The public is invited to have a glass of sangría and to view her special works.

Also, beginning Sunday, January 23, the restaurant La Fructuosa will open for Sunday lunches.

The restaurant will be closed until later in January, for R&R and redecoration, but they are now offering fresh Irish soda bread, baked to order. These large round and yeast free loaves weigh over a kilo and freeze beautifully. Variations are endless but already tried, tested and delicious.
